Changes in Outpatient, Inpatient and Emergency Care Services at Tokyo Metropolitan Hiroo Hospital due to Our COVID-19 Response Efforts

In the wake of the recent COVID-19 infection expansion in Tokyo, our hospital will be accepting COVID-19 patients as a top priority. In order to accomplish this mission, we are to secure as many beds as possible in our wards for the COVID-19 patients who need to be hospitalized.

Consequently, our patient care services will be temporarily cancelled as follows. We apologize for any inconvenience that may cause you and kindly ask for your understanding and cooperation.

In addition to the above, note that separated patient pathways and restricted access between Non-COVID-19 outpatients and COVID-19 inpatients on the premises are fully ensured.

Please contact your attending doctor if you have any concerns about your appointment being rescheduled as well as your medical conditions.

1 Consultations in General Practice

(1) Outpatient Care

① Consultations for existing patients with a follow-up appointment alone will continue to be available.
* A letter of referral to other medical providers will be provided for the patients who need to be hospitalized due to clinical deterioration.

② Consultations for new & existing patients with new symptoms will be temporarily cancelled.

(2) Inpatient Care

〇 All inpatient care, including Pediatrics, Obstetrics & Gynecology and Neuro-Psychiatry, will be temporarily cancelled with the exception of COVID-19 cases.

(3) Emergency Care

〇 All emergency care, including a fever outpatient clinic, will be temporarily cancelled with the exception of COVID-19 cases.
* This will take effect as of 9:00 AM, January 20, 2021.

2 Period

〇 These measures are scheduled to take effect from January 20 to March 31, 2021. Continuation or ending of the measures will be announced separately.
